"My photographs are not planned or composed, and I do not anticipate the onlooker will share my viewpoint.  However, I feel that if my photograph leaves an image on his mind, something has been accomplished."
 - Robert Frank

When I was in the Navy doing photography day in and day out, I thought that it would be my life.  I sought out all the input I could.  Callie Shell, at the time was the Vice President's Photographer.  She was kind enough to look at my portfolio.  She told me I should check out Robert Frank's "The Americans."  I followed her advice, I checked out the book and every time I go to a book store, I find a copy and thumb through it.  I only do photography for fun now, but I still am influenced by her kindness and Robert's images.
